Reverend Dr. Szuhsing Mao is the Senior Pastor at Chinese Community Church of South Bay. Born in Kaohsiung County, Taiwan, he is married to Shu-Li Chen and has been in United States since 1993.
Rev. Mao received his Master of Divinity from Taiwan Theological College & Seminary in 1988. He was the pastor at Taiwan Grass Lake Presbyterian Church for 5 years. Then in 1998, he received his Doctorate in Ministry from San Francisco Theological Seminary, specializing in preaching. Rev. Mao has been pastoring for over 26 years.
Rev. Mao’s principle in pastoring a church is as in 2Timothy 2:24-26: “And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge , of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”
Rev. Mao has always emphasized in outreach ministry as he once spearheaded a senior community meal ministry at Christ Lutheran Church in Monterey Park, California with over 60 elderly. He is skilled in leading gatherings and enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the church. Rev. Mao is gifted in Bible teaching and is very enthusiastic with caring and visitation ministry. He enjoys singing and likes to be involved with music ministry and PowerPoint production.
