Chinese Community Church of South Bay was Providing Community Service as Part of its Christmas Celebration Program
The Chinese Community Church of South Bay, located in the Torrance area of Los Angeles County, supported the Torrance Memorial Hospital’s 2014 Premier Holiday Festival fundraising event as part of the church’s community service project. The Holiday Festival was held under a giant 25,000-square-foot-tent in the Torrance Memorial’s employee parking lot. This year, the Chinese Community Church of South Bay choir was given the honor of performing the opening number of the December 6, 2014 program of the Holiday Festival event. The entertainment program in the Holiday Festival this year included performances by choirs, vocalists, pianists, guitarists, dance groups, ballets, bands, string ensembles, orchestras, and more. And the beautifully decorated Christmas trees were truly dazzling.
Last year, the Torrance Memorial’s Holiday Festival attracted more than 5,000 community members and raised $2 million toward the construction of the hospital’s new patient tower. This year, the Holiday Festival was held from Wednesday, December 3, 2014 to Sunday, December 7, 2014. Saturday, December 6, 2014 was Community Appreciation Day, where admission the Holiday Festival was free to public. If you missed us this year, come join us next year at the Holiday Festival to endure this community tradition in the South Bay, one that represents families, fun, giving, and the spirit of the holidays.
